So you want to refinish a dresser? It's so easy and in the end you get a unique, and in this case, an adorable addition to your home!

First, you start with the vintage find off your local online buy-and-sell. This gem was $30!

Next, we took off all the handles to paint them separately.

My mom and I lightly sanded this dresser and applied a coat of primer. We used Dulux Gripper.
Next, we applied 3 coats of orange paint to the handles and 3 coats of blue paint to the dresser and drawer fronts.

The matchbox car handles were their own challenge. And, to be honest, the saga is not over yet. I took the old drawer pulls to my local hardware store and found some matching screws and nuts. I applied Gorilla glue to the tops of the screws and adhered them to the bottoms of the cars. Once cured, I put them on the dresser. They looked so cool! My two year old son just wanted to play with them! Unfortunately, they did not withstand the pulling and yanking they we're put through! My plan is to paint the originals in orange when I get around to this small project.

The only other tip I have about this is the paint on the drawers stuck a little bit so I used a bar of soap to rub across the tops to help them glide better. My son loves this dresser and I think it's so unique quirky.
